屏大史上最年長的學生 82歲企業家邱文助樂在學習

高齡82歲的邱文助先生，目前就讀國立屏東大學視覺藝術系在職專班二年級，也是屏東大學有史以來最年長的學生。經商有成的他退休後，75歲那年考進高雄空中大學文藝系，畢業後又繼續深造，考進屏東大學，每週來往高雄屏東三天，樂在學習，除了一圓年幼失學的遺憾，並透過作畫放鬆身心、豐富人生，他還捐出50萬元給視藝系，協助成績優異及弱勢同學，鼓勵向學進修風氣。
邱文助不僅是台灣米穀公會理事長聯誼會創辦人，也是多家公司的董事長，並以父親之名，成立「財團法人邱錠先生文教基金會」，廣設獎學金鼓勵學子用功向學。平時熱心公益，回饋社會的他，早在六○年代就以千斤白米冬令救濟家鄉茄萣；七○年代捐助母校成功國小興建圖書館，善行義舉不勝枚舉。
邱文助說，他出生於二戰後經濟困頓的年代，早年全心投入事業，根本無暇去進修求學，但很喜歡鼓勵年輕人向學，自己退休後，在子女鼓勵下進入高雄空中大學就讀，與同學相處融洽，也感受到學習的樂趣，閒暇時就寫書法、繪畫，自娛娛人，在朋友同學勸說下，又繼續來到屏大視藝系就讀，很感謝師長同學的幫忙。
家住高雄市的邱文助，每週有三天在屏東大學屏師校區上課，不想麻煩別人的他，本來都自行開車往返高雄屏東，單程就要花一個小時的時間，但去年底在八八快速道路遭追撞，視藝系同學當天發現他沒來上課，手機又聯絡不上，甚為焦急，後來得知他發生車禍事故，所幸車損人平安，此後邱文助就搭乘火車往返，再由視藝系學會崔振興會長負責接送。
邱文助愛畫水彩、油畫，他在課堂上努力學習和作畫，甚至全程參與藝文中心各項策展佈展工作，和其他同學沒有年齡落差，也沒有任何架子，更難得的是，他還捐款50萬元給視覺藝術系，做為清寒獎助學金。視藝系林大維主任說，邱文助上課態度良好，認真學習，與兒孫輩的同學相處也很融洽，感謝他對視藝系的支持。
屏東大學之前年齡最長的學生是劉祿德校長，80歲考進本校前身屏東教育大學的文創所，邱文助先生81歲才到屏大就讀，創了屏大有史以來的紀錄！
