隨著疫情趨緩，安平地區車潮逐漸湧現，部分汽車駕駛見深夜路廣人稀，便一路拉轉油門加速，罔顧用路人安全，更有些刻意改裝消音器而造成躁音污染，為避免交通憾事與擾民一再發生，南市警全面升級測速槍執法設備，一補過往夜間光線不足之窘境，而第四分局亦持續加強相關執法作為及執勤技巧，嚴格取締噪音車輛、超速、競駛競速(危險駕駛)等違規行為，據統計，自本週二(2日)起連四日至本週五止，每日20時至24時實施專案執法，業已依據道路交通管理處罰條例第16條規定舉發違規車輛計8件，並檢具相關佐證資料移請環保、監理機關依權責審酌驗車計20件(本年度累積至今達785件)，全力打擊，勿枉勿縱!

改裝車輛噪音侵害居住安寧甚多，近期已由市府環保局將規劃安平區設置「噪音自動照相機」設備取締噪音車，全力杜絕噪音干擾社區，另部分駕駛超速行駛之行為亦將造成用路安全極大的隱憂，有鑒於此，安平區除健康路與文平路口設有固定式測照桿外，其餘轄區各要道、路口亦規劃移動式測照點，包括安北路與城平路口、康路三段696號、健康路三段與國平南路口、安平路202號關帝聖君對面、安平路128號、永華路二段300及930號、中華西路二段57及415號、中華西路二段28巷對面及中華西路二段與南島路口等12處所，測速執法，以防止違規有礙交通安全，依據道路交通管理處罰條例第40條規定：「汽車駕駛人，行車速度，超過規定之最高時速，或低於規定之最低時速，除有第四十三條第一項第二款情形(行車速度，超過規定之最高時速六十公里)外，處新臺幣一千二百元以上二千四百元以下罰鍰」，若超速六十公里以上，除將依同法43條所定危險駕車罰則論處外，同時亦可能涉犯刑法公共危險罪章，莫可不慎。
分局長甘炎民表示現階段地區居民不論對超速肇事或改裝噪音，都非常痛惡且擾民，不但易造成道路安全更影響居家寧靜的安全，所以本分局才會持續不斷規劃，以淨化地區安寧，針對騎乘改裝排氣管車輛除會違反相關交通法規而受罰外，
目前噪音管制法第13條亦訂有明文：「人民得向主管機關(環保局)檢舉使用中機動車輛噪音妨害安寧情形，被檢舉之車輛經主管機關通知者，應於指定期限內至指定地點接受檢驗」，爰此民眾亦可勝任守門員的角色，與警方一同把關地方環境安寧，建構安心安全的交通用路環境。
