再傳佳績！嘉義市立美術館獲「台灣建築獎」首獎殊榮

嘉義市立美術館繼獲「2021國家卓越建設獎」後再傳佳績，11月9日又獲2021年台灣建築獎首獎，市府表示，獲獎不僅代表畫都嘉義的重生與新舊建築的融合設計力受肯定，也是城市軟硬體建設，結合設計力，再創競爭與經濟之再次證明。
2021年台灣建築獎9日公布得主，首獎由嘉義市立美術館 (黃明威建築師事務所+王銘顯建築師事務所)、屏東縣立圖書館總館(張瑪龍陳玉霖聯合建築師事務所)共同獲得。
主辦單位建築師雜誌表示，本屆共有187件作品參選，評審團由建築師李綠枝、邱文傑、潘冀、簡學義、陳珍誠組成，陳珍誠擔任召集人。初選會議於10月8日召開，選出12件作品進入複選，角逐今年的台灣建築獎，評審們於11月4日至6日進行現場勘查，並於勘查後召開決選會議，選出今年的台灣建築獎。
主辦單位表示，嘉美館為新舊建築結合丶軟體內容創新與硬體空間再生的成功案例；同時，在面對外部環境的議題上，大膽翻轉原有動線結構，創造更好的都市空間界面關係，為台灣二線城市公共建設的精彩表現予以肯定與鼓勵。
面對文化資產保存、修復再利用的新舊融合議題，提出令人耳目一新、具張力的設計，拆除RC外牆、改用輕巧又隔熱的CLT板的減重方式讓舊建築與時俱進，順利進入下一生命周期，也讓原有倉庫立面翻轉為具人文意象的外觀，與古蹟典雅的風貌銜接、形成市街連續的立面。增建的挑空大廳採用集成材木構和帷幕玻璃，成為美術館清新明亮的入口大廳，展示巨幅在地畫作，為「木都」、「畫都」的美名更添佳話。戶外景觀利用「圓」形植穴元素整合三個不同時代的量體，創造了親民的廣場，展現建築、結構、景觀設計專業的合作無間。
