一一０年全國運動會日前落幕，南市代表隊共榮獲廿五面金牌、廿三面銀牌、四十一面銅牌，總計八十九面獎牌的佳績，並獲得縣市績優考試院院長獎，市府體育處廿七日晚上，更在南區黃金海岸方舟，舉行慶功餐會，慰勞選手、教練及工作人員，並希望一一二年由市府主辦的全國運動會中，能展現實力及主場優勢，締造佳績。

參加慶功餐會的市長黃偉哲表示，今年南市代表隊創下縣市合併以來最佳獎牌數，尤其與上屆全運會相較共多了五面金牌，總獎牌數更增加了廿三面，為鼓勵選手，自一一０年起調升全運會金牌獎勵金，個人項目金牌獎金，由廿五萬元調高至卅萬元，團體項目金牌獎金則由八萬元提升至十三萬元。
且奪牌選手也將發給每月三千元至二萬元的培訓金，直至下一屆全運會止，另一方面，市府除了在全運會當年編列一千二百萬元培訓經費外，也在明年增加編列六百萬元培訓經費，讓選手能在賽場上突破佳績。
慶功餐會，黃偉哲共頒發獎勵金給帆船、划船、跆拳道、軟式網球、田徑等廿八個運動種類獎勵金，其中包含十二項連霸及三項破紀錄獎勵金，合計達新台幣三千六百七十二萬餘元。
教育局指出，一一０年全運會，台南帆船好手拿下六金四銀五銅佳績；空手道女子組個人型選手簡慧萱也不負眾望，成功寫下四連霸的紀錄；軟式網球項目也囊括四金四銀一銅，男子團體賽更是連獲五連霸，制霸全國；男子組舉重九十六公斤級陳柏任選手再次破紀錄並達成三連霸目標等成績。
