1.要挑選母的橘子較甜。 2.橘子屁股底部有「小凸芽」是母的；只有一小黑點是公的。 3.選頭部是「凹」的；不能選「凸」的，橘子頭部凸的表示水份較少。 4.再來要挑選橘子較重的。 5.最後要選皮細薄光滑的，也就是按下去較軟的但不要太軟。
其實攤商表示，一般民眾挑選橘子不會特別找公的或母的，只要把握挑選原則，加上當季盛產，橘子自然鮮甜好吃
