外媒報導，白宮資深官員轉述，習近平還主動提到，美國方面有報導指稱，中共打算在2027年或2035年動武。對此，身為中共中央軍委主席的習近平否認有這項計畫，「沒有人跟我說這件事」。

雙方針對「台灣問題」闡述各自的立場，而習近平則是再次向美國強調，「台灣問題」是雙方關係中最敏感的問題，要求美方將不支持「台獨」的表態體現在具體行動上，並停止武裝台灣，支持中國和平統一。
另外拜登也強調台灣海峽和平穩定的重要性，他告訴習近平，美方維持一個中國政策（One China Policy）不希望改變美台關係現狀，並表示「這就是我們討論的程度。」
