《神很大》池王爺聖誕 翁章梁贈匾中埔四十九庄保安宮「光昭神恩」

嘉義縣長翁章梁今（10）日致贈中埔鄉四十九庄保安宮「光昭神恩」匾額，表達對池王爺的崇仰與敬意，更感謝池王爺多年來守護著庄頭，立委陳明文、縣議會秘書長李光耀、議員羅士洋、民政處長楊健人等人也一同參與，將匾額交給廟方主委郭明彰。

翁章梁說，每個村落的神明對庄頭都很重要，大家從小就在這裡出入、拜拜，三支清香透過信仰產生無形力量，贈匾神尊是他的福氣，祈願眾神繼續保佑爐下眾弟子平安。
四十九庄保安宮為中埔鄉境內開山祖廟，寺廟內保留乾隆時期碑記，歷史悠久，聲名遠播，是鄉民重要的信仰中心，主祀神明「池王爺」神威顯赫，廟方將於7月16日（農曆6月18日）舉辦池王爺聖誕千秋祝壽大典，翁章梁先行致贈匾額恭祝池王爺聖誕千秋，盼彰顯地方信仰中心歷史價值與特色。

乾隆年間，居住在本地的居民常因八掌溪氾濫無常、生活不安，為祈境土安寧，屢議由南鯤鯓分請王爺鎮境護土。相傳此時有一位雜貨店商婦人，由南鯤鯓朝請一尊池王爺金身（身體可搖動的軟身王爺）藏置籠中迎回，途中經溪畔榕樹下休息，旋即竟挑不動，得悉王爺欲駐此地，於是附近居民合建草廟，安座神位。
相傳廟內奉祀的百年池王爺神尊，在30年前被信眾請回家奉祀後，就沒有再請回廟方，廟方多次尋找無果，後經2度易手最終落腳竹崎鄉的寺廟；池府王爺透過乩童轉告，想回到最初的四十九庄寺廟，經四處打聽確定是中埔鄉四十九庄保安宮，廟方於103年7月12日舉行儀式將神尊從竹崎請回中埔。

池王爺，黑面、眼睛翻白。緣由據歷代相傳，王爺任職知縣時，因地方百姓不敬么神、事親不孝、忤逆長上，作惡多端激怒上天。天庭即派使者攜帶毒藥，欲在全縣人民飲水的水源地親池井中下毒，恰巧被王爺發覺此事，巧得使者手中藥後自身服下，不多時毒藥毒性發作，臉色變黑雙眼翻白而亡。
使者受知縣感動將實情呈稟玉帝，玉帝感念其德，封為代天巡狩，掌理民間疾苦事宜，凡間皇帝亦緬懷其行，加封賜姓「池」，民間祭祀於農曆6月18日為池王爺聖誕千秋。
