台南市永康區市議員候選人林冠維競選總部今（9）日成立，上午十點，台南市雖然仍是豔陽高照，但設立在永康區永大路永大夜市旁的林冠維競選總部，即已擠滿人潮，近4千位支持者擠爆現場，議長郭信良與市長黃偉哲及多位議員都到場贊聲，該區過半的里長也展現力挺立場。

吉時一到，林冠維在父親林阳乙及多位無黨聯盟議員，包括杜素吟、趙昆原、蔡秋蘭、曾信凱、周奕齊及國民黨書記長李中岑、蔡淑惠、方一峰陪同下，由鑼鼓開路上台，隨後議長郭信良與市長黃偉哲、及國民黨市黨部主委林進旺與市長參選人謝龍介都到場推薦林冠維。

在活動過程中，林冠維夫妻也跪著由他的父親林阳乙議員為他們披掛綵帶。即將卸任交棒的市議會無黨聯盟總召林阳乙議員說，從他擔任永康市民代表時，林冠維就跟在他身邊學習如何選民服務，他還經常耳提面命告誡他，民代不能什麼事都不做，只會出一張嘴澎風，這是失敗的人，好的民代，為民服務要盡心盡力，不要說自己做了什麼，真心付出，民眾自然就會幫你宣傳，林阳乙強調，除感謝選民在過去20多年對他的栽培外，也強調林冠維是他10年來手把手教出來服務鄉親的苗子，他很慶幸兒子一路走來不僅沒有變壞，還謙恭有禮，選民服務跑第一，所以他才放心交棒，他也希望大家能將對他的疼惜，轉為支持林冠維，讓林冠維有機會回報這20多年來選民對他的支持。

林冠維表示，他6歲時，父親就擔任永康市代表，兒時雖懵懵懂懂，卻也種下為民服務的種子，所以15歲時，他主動向父母表明要半工半讀，每天騎腳踏車早上讀書晚上到服務業工作，直至服完兵役才回到父親身旁擔任助理工作。他並細數這十年來他帶父親跑的選民工作，不管是路平、調解或是小型工程施作，只要里長一叫，或里民陳情案件一叫、他就馬上到現場，因此，永康區43里，光是路平鋪柏油路，就高達220條巷道，經費高達二億五千多萬元。

由於永康區應選7席，卻有15位候選人角逐，競爭非常激烈，林冠維不諱言說，民調他都落在6、7、8名，這種當選門檻邊緣非常危險，他知道自己吃虧在新人，知名度不足，自己也曾向父親求援，他的父親要他再勤跑拜託選民，因此他希望支持他的選民能幫他多拉票，讓他能順利過關，延續父親為民服務的志業。
