現為東源森林遊樂區導覽員的屏東縣牡丹部落排灣族勇士「阿里」生長在頭目家族，阿里頭飾上的熊鷹羽毛代表著他的身份。
排灣族傳說，熊鷹是貴族（頭目）以及英雄象徵，只有大頭目才能配戴熊鷹最長的一根初級飛羽，以及一根小的覆羽，各部落或有差異，但是熊鷹羽毛是一種識別象徵有如獎狀，只給有功勞的人，取用規定十分嚴格。
