每年三、四月是恆春半島洋蔥採收的季節，車城是台灣洋蔥最大產地，當地洋蔥經落山風吹拂後，口感香甜結實，墾丁長灘休閒飯店更推出全球首創 DIY 體驗課程「洋蔥 3D 藝術畫」，營養好吃的洋蔥還能拿來畫畫，真的讓人感到相當新奇。

每年 11 月至隔年 3 月間恆春半島就會吹起陣陣的落山風，落山風其風力強、乾燥、持續時間久且間歇性出沒的特性，帶來許多好處與奇景，例如新鮮空氣、風吹沙奇景、造 型奇特的風剪樹，而車城的洋蔥更因「落山風」的吹拂而長得爽脆香甜，每年 3 月到 6 月都是賞味期，很受市場青睞。
根據醫學研究，洋蔥含有一種與人體腎臟分泌物相同的激素「前列腺A」，能舒張血管，預防因高血脂食物引起的動脈硬化症，同時富含維生素A、B、C、無機鹽類、碳水化合物、辛辣味與揮發性油等，是有益健康的好食物。墾丁長灘休閒飯店也與地方業者合作，在車城洋蔥文物館中推出洋蔥紅酒、洋蔥餅、洋蔥醬油、洋蔥蛋捲、洋蔥冰淇淋等相關產品，希望經過此地的遊客能一同品嚐美味又健康的農產品。
