為提升公、私有工程的施工品質，高雄市政府與高雄市三大公會 結構工程工業技師公會、土木技師公會及建築師公會，邀請企業共襄盛舉參加「2022年城市工程品質金質獎」活動，即日起至5月31日止接受報名，期許大家把握且共同努力，提升城市建築及營造產業品質。
工務局表示，現階段雖面對嚴峻的疫情，仍希望營造高雄成為均衡區域發展、融合人文美學、充滿綠意與活力的城市。此獎項參獎的工程類別，包括建築工程類、土木工程類、水利工程類、景觀工程類、室內裝修類、綠能工程類及其他工程類等組別，相當多元廣泛。
去(2021)年評選範圍最北自新北淡水起、最南至屏東恆春均有工程參與評選，可謂是廣布全國，最終選出118個案件。其中高雄市政府的工程市府團隊計有41項工程獲獎，包含華麗轉身的鐵路地下化園道工程、高雄車站天棚(拱頂桁架)工程，照顧偏鄉聯外交通便捷的桃源區建國橋改善工程，豐富市民朋友休憩生活體驗的海洋文化及流行音樂中心、符合自然元素的福山公園特色遊戲場、高雄市立美術館步道修繕、九番埤排水水岸景觀等多項工程，另外深具文史保存價值的古蹟雄鎮北門修復工程，以及環境永續發展的太陽光電游泳池及漁電共生智慧養殖溫室等工程，獲獎數之多、性質之多元，都是難得一見的佳績。
今年除了上述獎項外，配合政府建設捷運及輕軌重大建設，捷運黃線今年底全線動工、紅線往北延伸到路竹、往南延伸到林園，輕軌捷運自美術館站到凱旋公園站也陸續展開，本屆金質獎將軌道工程新增納入土木工程類評選，以彰顯此項建設工程對高雄未來大眾運輸發展的重要性。另配合政府推動國中、小學班班有空調及電氣設備增加致電力負荷須整個線路檢討更新政策，仍將「空調電力系統工程」新增納入本屆金質獎「H組」類別評選範圍。相關金質獎報名資料與參選須知等詳情，請上「高雄市土木技師公會」網站(http://www.kpcea.org.tw)。
