影／動物媽咪 壽山動物園女保育員無悔付出愛心

壽山動物園共有9位女性保育員，其中已有23年照養動物經驗的吳雪枝女士，是最資深的保育員，而有「空軍總司令」稱號的周潔如女士，她的母親也曾擔任壽山動物園的保育員，這些「動物媽咪」無微不至的照養園內動物，無論陰雨天晴，總是能看見保育員的身影，時時留意動物們的一舉一動和進食狀況，甚至對於動物們的離開，也寫下思念之情，。
壽山動物園共有9位女性保育員。
周潔如說，當時在照顧春麗同伴「強強」時，發現有步履蹣跚的情形，立即通知獸醫師及時治療，過程中更驚喜發現駱駝的腳底像海綿一樣柔軟，原來駱駝腳底有厚軟的脂肪肉墊，既能隔熱且不會讓牠陷入鬆軟的沙土中。後來她成為鴯鶓的「動物媽咪」，從幼雛到成年悉心的呵護，彼此間產生深厚的感情；鸚鵡是最讓她掛心的動物，因為牠們個性敏感很會認人。而最近園內誕生小孔雀，當她看著孔雀媽媽帶著2隻小孔雀漫步林間，內心也獲療癒。
除此之外，還有8位女性保育員，分別是3年後即將退休的吳雪枝女士，負責梅花鹿、弓角羚羊、長鬃山羊及山羌等動物照養；外號包子的徐千貽對於動物訓練很在行，黑猩猩與她有一定程度的信任感；外號小胖的張淑萍陪伴侏儒河馬「圓寶」成長，也會透過互動遊戲進行動物訓練。
保育員李元華所照料的樹懶也很受遊客喜愛，繁衍無數的黑肚綿羊及長鼻浣熊分別由保育員郭雪貞及紀方捷照顧，而在收容中心服務的許美鯉女士及鍾惠英女士，她們對於領角鴞等收容動物的照護，也獲得動物友善的回應。
