電競運動熱潮正夯，嘉義市體育會電子競技運動委員會成立後首場全國性大型賽事「反毒電子競技運動錦標賽」，今(25)日於嘉義文化創意產業園區進行8強線下賽，競賽遊戲為競技手遊《傳說對決》，現場戰況精彩熱烈。市長黃敏惠到場為選手們加油，並強調電競運動健腦又健身，市府正與多所學校合作，全力推動電競運動發展，提供年輕朋友更多元發展方向。

黃敏惠表示，近年來電子競技運動發展迅速，第十九屆亞洲運動會（杭州亞運）已將電競列為比賽項目，感謝嘉義市體育會電子競技運動委員會去年3月成立後，積極辦理各項活動，還以互動遊戲方式深入社區推廣電競，並攜手嘉義市政府舉辦專業教練和裁判講習，進而辦理相關賽事。此次比賽更結合反毒教育，強化孩子團隊精神，同時宣導正確反毒意識，用心值得肯定。
黃敏惠進一步指出，電競運動不單純只是遊戲，選手們要有足夠的專注力及反應力，比賽過程更著重沉著、敏銳、精準、機智，是「健身又健腦」極有意義的運動項目之一。電競所串聯的產業鏈也非常多元，是現在科技發展的趨勢，市府亟為重視電競運動發展，為培育訓練電競人才，已與多所學校合作，希望透過新興運動發展，讓孩子有更多發展可能，並創造新思維。

這場嘉義市首次舉辦全國性電子競技運動錦標賽，賽事訊息一發布，二個星期不到，就吸引來自台北、新北、桃園、臺中、臺南、高雄、新竹、彰化、南投、雲林、基隆、新竹、嘉義13個縣市58校，共計225名青年學子熱情報名參加。以傳統對決遊戲《傳說對決》為主體，並透過5v5競賽模式進行，於18、19日完成線上賽，今天8強線下賽有近百人齊聚一堂歡樂開打，熱烈場面，見證電競運動的高人氣。
嘉義市體育會電子競技運動委員會主任委員孫貫志議員說，電競運動可以啟發想像力和創造力，委員會先前與吳鳳科大、教育部體育署、中華奧會合作辦理C級電競裁判講習，有多達6成學員通過評核考試。期待嘉義市能興設一座多功能電子競技體育館，讓更多人參與其中，體驗電子競技運動的過人魅力。
