馬紹爾群島大使拜訪嘉市府 期盼有更深入的合作

馬紹爾群島共和國駐台大使艾芮瓊女士一行人今（12）日拜訪嘉義市政府，感謝嘉義市民間團體對於該國在消防安全上的協助，並期盼能夠有更多深化的交流，促進兩國情誼。
馬紹爾群島共和國位於北太平洋，在1998年與我國建交。去年12月嘉義市西區扶輪社捐贈該國馬久羅市政府6套全新消防衣，提升部分偏遠地區的消防安全。艾芮瓊大使接受西區扶輪社的邀請來到嘉義市，除了拜會市府外，也暢遊檜意森活村等知名景點。

嘉義市長黃敏惠代表歡迎艾大使一行人的到訪，並詳細介紹嘉義市是個建城超過300年城市，擁有豐富的人文底蘊，更有「畫都」與「木都」的美譽。同時黃敏惠也特別介紹由市府、農試所嘉義分所及市農會合作開發的台農82號「幸福嘉義米」，展現城市的軟實力，更邀請艾大使於今年中秋節到嘉義市參加全台灣最大的光影藝術展「光織影舞」，以及年底盛大舉辦的第30屆的嘉義市管樂節，感受獨特的城市魅力。
艾芮瓊大使感性地說，現在嘉義市在馬紹爾是個有名的城市！因為嘉義市西區扶輪社去年的慈善捐贈，讓馬紹爾的國民都認識嘉義市。艾大使也提出希望藉由嘉義市精進的農業技術和人才，協助馬國產業再升級，以及希望嘉義市能多分享環保生態永續的議題。黃敏惠也答應未來有機會將連結嘉義大學或農試所的資源，為兩國的合作有更多的努力。
