尿尿小童「卸妝」了 百年嘉義公園展現全齡無礙新風貌

有112年歷史的嘉義公園一期改善工程今（15）日完工啟用，市府以「百年地景-嘉義遊園地」為主軸，重新擦亮舊有的歷史痕跡，回歸百年前的原始風華，其中具代表性的尿尿小童「卸妝」成功，以原始風貌和大家相見，讓變身成功後的嘉義公園能延續市民的珍貴回憶，同時市長黃敏惠也宣布啟動二期工程。

黃敏惠表示，嘉義公園不僅有歷史文物，更有百年人文的堆疊，蘊藏著不同世代的記憶縮影。「每個嘉義人都對嘉義公園有屬於自己的故事」，所以改造工程秉持著帶給市民綠意盎然公園景致的核心，就是希望將嘉義市打造成「世世代代好倚起，大大小小隴恰意」的城市。
黃敏惠進一步提到，嘉義公園改造計畫是以多元共融、永續環境等目標，除了修復公園原本面貌與回顧過去歷史外，更要有前瞻思維，以減法的設計方式去除不必要的部分，讓公園更空曠開闊，並修舊如舊，擦亮歷史的痕跡，尤其是讓尿尿小童卸妝呈現出本來亮麗的模樣。
黃敏惠感謝第一代修復團張天津校長與專業技師，在三十多年前修復了尿尿小童，才讓大家現在有機會能夠看到保存近百年的文化寶物。雖然當初當年礙於技術無法留有尿尿小童的原貌，但透過第二代修復團隊雲科大Gordon Turner Walker高登‧泰納沃克教授和張志鵬修復師的努力，將尿尿小童「卸妝」成功，展現出本來面目。

第一代修復團隊前雲林工專校長張天津表示，民國七十五年尿尿小童因噴水系統阻塞，致使水壓把雕像沿焊接處撐裂開，由他帶領團隊進行修復，當時尿尿小童還是古銅本色。漆層皆為後來的維修團隊所施作的，而非雕像本身所有。而今再與二代修復團隊雲科大文資維護系修復專家Gordon Turner Walker高登‧泰納沃克及修復師張志鵬攜手，恢復尿尿小童的本色，過程意義非凡。Gordon Turner Walker高登‧泰納沃克教授也說，雖然修復過程有許多挑戰和困難，但很高興能有這個機會，參與修復的工作為文物找到新生。

建設處表示，一期工程包含尿尿小童修復、噴水池再規劃、遊戲場安全強化與小西湖環境升級，並將閒置的鳥籠結合陳澄波畫中猴籠進行設計，打造開放式的休閒空間。如今一期工程竣工啟用，將同步展開二期工程，涵蓋火車頭改造、鳥籠裝置藝術完善與忠烈祠前參道營造等區域。
未來嘉義公園將串聯嘉義市首座遊客中心、每個月第三週舉辦的「開嘉市集」及「2022嘉義市購物節」等一系列好吃、好玩又好康的遊程，邀請全國遊客來嘉作客。
