誠品生活將進駐南區鹽埕段「商八」開發區，新建廣達6千坪的南台灣最大店面，預計於2024在台南400年里程碑這個時間點開幕；市民以後不用特地跑到台北松菸文創園區的誠品生活區朝聖，在南區就能享有跟松菸一樣高質感、滿滿文青與精緻美食的生活體驗。
商八基地面積2.3公頃，位於台南市中華西路一段、新興路口的南區鹽埕段，對面為3.43公頃的明和公園，鄰近安平港、台86快速道路、國道1號、3號、台南機場、奇美博物館、安平老街等，周圍交通網路四通八達，具備聯外交通便捷及海空運輸中樞點之優勢。108年7月4日由碳佐麻里有限公司得標負責開發，總投資金額15億元，將引進相關商業經營及複合式餐飲，有助帶進商業人潮，活絡南區與安平區商圈發展。
台南市長黃偉哲表示，自就任以來「拼經濟」一直是首要施政重點，台南市生活機能不斷提昇，具備交通機能、腹地廣大、優質之人才等優勢，感謝在迎接台南建城400年之際，誠品生活再度回到台南加碼投資，繁榮地方經濟與創造就業機會，本投資案未來涉及相關本府權管業務，包含都審、交評、建使照等，市府將主動提供相關之協助，希望加速開發期程，及早落實投資並帶動城市經濟繁榮。
誠品董事長吳旻潔表示，台南是誠品創辦人吳清友先生的故鄉，這次展店對誠品團隊別具意義。在迎接台南400年之際，很開心能有機會回到台南，開展一家充滿誠品場所精神、能充分表達誠品豐富個性與獨特觀點並充滿『生活感』的大店，相信也能成為台南全新旅遊亮點之一，為城市及品牌創造文化觀光收益。
碳佐麻里董事長邱彥騰表示，非常期待和誠品的首次合作能激盪出令人眼睛一亮的創意，打造最具特色的觀光休憩景點。園區除了匯集碳佐麻里眾多自有餐飲品牌，未來也將由誠品生活提供閱讀、設計、主題展覽等多元藝文體驗，全方位滿足本市民眾生活與休閒需求。
