台南水雉保育有成 2022夏季調查1622比去年又多312隻

台南官田水雉生態教育園區持續推廣友善耕作策略，讓水雉能有更多棲地繁衍，逐漸獲得農友認同，自然生態也反饋，今年夏季水雉繁殖調查結果出爐，水雉族群穩定成長，現有數量為1622隻，又比去年多了312隻。

水雉是台南市「市鳥」，每年有7成以上在官田區被記錄到，其次就是麻豆的8％及下營的7％，今年仍舊以官田、下營增加的隻數最多，麻豆及南關線的歸仁區的族群數量也有明顯成長。
官田水雉園區主任李文珍說，除了這些區域，柳營、六甲、鹽水、山上、新營這些菱角生產區周邊，水雉繁殖族群雖然不多，但仍穩定成長，而安南、白河、學甲、安定等地區雖然有水雉蹤跡，但感覺上還在尋覓適當的繁衍處所。

李文珍指出，水雉偏好的棲地類型仍以菱角田為主，雛鳥及蛋的繁殖記錄有83%在菱角田被記錄到，另外在水稻田、草澤等濕地和少數積水的旱地也有記錄到，顯示出水雉會利用多樣性多元化的濕地環境，因此維護生物多樣性非常重要。
官田水雉生態教育園區、特有生物中心生物指標研究室、台南鳥會每年在水雉的繁殖季(夏季)及非繁殖季(冬季)會在台南各進行一次的水雉調查。由於7月底進入繁殖季高峰，活動範圍較固定，調查也最適合，但酷暑就考驗調查員的體力與耐力，為避免中暑有人一早就出門，也有人反映菱角葉折射陽光，看到眼花花，不休息一下可會吃不消。

李文珍表示，相比於去年旱象，今年降雨狀況好些，水雉棲地的菱角及水生植物生長狀況都不錯，加上友善耕作的農友及農地面積增加，吸引水雉前往築巢繁衍，今年台南各區幾乎數量都有增長。
