嘉義縣社會住宅興辦首案由國家住宅及都市更新中心與嘉義縣府團隊攜手合作，國家住宅及都市更新中心8月31日將於嘉義縣民雄鄉舉辦「福樂安居」社會住宅動土典禮，祈求工程順利進行，共同打造品質與效率並重的優質好宅。
縣長翁章梁表示，國家住都中心「福樂安居」社宅位於民雄鄉北勢子公園旁，鄰近自然公園、民雄工業區、水綠廊雙學區、嘉義酒廠酒類文物館及觀光工廠等，集休憩、教育及豐富生活適居環境，並規劃有托嬰中心、日照中心，提供給民眾居住的新選擇。本案建築規模為地上14層、地下3層，將提供630戶社宅單元只租不售，預計116年中旬完工。
縣府為配合中央住宅政策落實、活化公有土地利用，除了由國家住宅及都市更新中心興建社會住宅之外，尚有包租代管、租金補貼等配套政策，提供剛成家的青年人口、年長者、弱勢族群能租賃到舒適合宜的居住空間，保障居住權利。

經濟發展處指出，嘉縣辦理社會住宅包租代管，透過政府介入讓租賃雙方都安心，房東享有租稅優惠及修繕補助等好康，房客享政府補貼租金及補貼公證費用等好康；目前房東、房客媒合成功已達50多戶，相關資訊可洽免費諮詢專線0800-666-444或(05)362-7333。
同時「內政部300億元中央擴大租金補貼專案」開始受理申請嘍！對於一定所得以下無自有房屋之個人或家庭，提供每戶每月最高2000元至8000元租金補貼，並為鼓勵婚育及加強關懷弱勢，針對符合補貼金額加碼身分者加碼補貼金額。
申請期間自 111年7月1日至111年8月31日止，一律採線上申請，詳情請上內政部網站搜尋「300億元中央擴大租金補貼專區」，或洽內政部諮詢專線02-7729-8003。
經濟發展處長江振瑋表示，馬稠後、大埔美精密機械、中科院航太、中埔公館與水上南靖等產業園區，以及嘉義科學園區，預計可引入6.8萬個就業機會，致力實現青年返嘉就業、在地成家之夢想，讓社會住宅做為嘉義縣經濟發展最堅強的後盾，農工大縣正在實現！
