暑假期間前往小琉球的遊客眾多屏東縣政府消防局新園分隊於大福琉球航運乘船處加強水域防溺宣導，提醒民眾戲水時，須注意周遭的環境及自身的安全，勿前往危險水域戲水。
近來天氣炎熱，民眾戲水的頻率也增加，為強化水上活動安全及防溺意識，新園分隊近期特別至轄區內濱海區域及人潮眾多公共場所進行防溺及防災等宣導，透過互動的方式向民眾傳達防溺安全的觀念。

由於時序進入盛夏，海邊湧現了許多人潮，大人、小孩及學生戲水玩得不亦樂乎，如果稍有不慎，便有可能發生溺水事件。為了提醒民眾戲水時，須注意周遭的環境及自身的安全，勿前往危險水域戲水。
新園分隊表示，民眾戲水應前往有救生員之安全水域戲水，如發現有人溺水應立即大聲呼救，同時撥打119向消防或118向海巡單位報案，切勿貿然單獨下水援救，以免造成更多的意外溺水事故。
