臺南市立棒球場於今(15)日舉辦中職例行賽，由地主隊統一獅對上富邦悍將，統一獅除邀請中山國中啦啦隊作為開場表演，更由副市長戴謙代表黃偉哲市長受邀擔任今日賽事開球嘉賓，今年結合教師節敬師活動，於開賽前舉辦「統一獅‧師恩情」活動，在球場公開表揚中山國中師鐸獎代表黃莉珺教師及在校服務滿10年及20年教師，感謝在教育界的辛勞付出。

副市長戴謙表示，棒球一直是本市體育的重點發展項目，市府重視基層棒球運動發展，積極建構社區棒球、少棒、青少棒、青棒、大學棒球隊、城市棒球隊及統一獅職棒隊等七級制選手培訓體制，成為國內少數能有的培訓系統，市府除了持續推展基層棒球運動培育體制，也有賴民間企業的資源支持與良性互動，感謝環國建設陳國雄董事長以行動回饋給本市基層棒球隊，給予基層棒球隊最實質性的助益。
體育局長陳良乾表示，中山國中與統一球團每年一次的「統一獅中山日」合作計畫，今年已邁入第四屆，感謝環國建設董事長陳國雄贈予省躬國小及立人國小棒球隊棒球球具，而且更加碼今(15)日球賽只要統一獅的球員每擊出一支全壘打就捐出五萬元做為公益基金，捐助學校弱勢學生或偏鄉公益團體，希望藉此拋磚引玉，獲得更多社會善心人士的響應。
