卡達2022世界盃足球賽將在今年11月20日登場，屆時台灣又將在掀起一波四年一次的世界盃足球熱潮，國內基層足球重大賽事「111年度國民小學迷你足球」也搭上這股熱潮，自10月賽期開始至11月底決賽，總共踢跨全台22縣市，超過500場比賽。

迷你足球是以安全、有趣為核心的迷你足球活動，主要推廣族群幼兒園與國小低年級幼童為主，國內足球發展基礎擴及6歲以下的孩子，也讓這項全世界風行的運動項目以小手拉大手的方式更快速地在國內流行。
