六級廠營區的故事 越野拉力英雄陳長生

陳長生，綽號樂腳，台灣越野拉力賽先驅人物，年輕時即闖蕩亞洲各項賽事，獲得諸多殊榮。因為熱愛越野賽事而投入車輛的保養維修，拆解研究車輛，靠自己的雙手用舊零件組出一台新車。陳長生於1996年創立維修越野車的「六級廠」，致力於將報廢車翻新組裝成新車。「六級廠」採用國軍命名車輛維修廠的方式，具有「重生」的意涵。多年來吸引了許多車迷前來朝聖，陳長生總是不吝分享自己的專業知識，解決各項車輛的疑難雜症。全盛時期，廠內更是擁有100多台收藏車。除了珍貴的收藏車種，廠內也收集了許多陳長生熱愛的軍用品，包括軍車、軍服、道具槍以及通訊器材等等。熱心公益的陳長生，只要國軍有救災或是展覽的需求，陳長生皆無條件出借，用越野車傳遞愛與希望。

在眾多的越野車種當中，陳長生對Land Rover Defender情有獨鍾。他與Defender的回憶可以追溯到年少時期，住在南投的家族負責林務局的巡山、車輛管理與維修的工作。那時候林務局的用車就是Land Rover Defender，包括Series IIA、90、110等型號，讓陳長生與Defender結下不解之緣。Defender成為陳長生生命中的純粹，成就他的冒險人生。
2002年，陳長生準備參與拉薩到加德滿都的越野汽車集結賽，全程2700公里。賽前體檢時不幸檢查出鼻咽癌。醫生建議他比賽前先治療，他問醫生「會死嗎？」醫生回說不會。陳長生說那我要去比賽。醫生反問他：「那如果我說會死呢？」陳長生堅定地回答：「 那我更要去比賽。」心中對於越野拉力的無比熱情，不言而喻。

抗癌多年，今年11月16日，陳長生不敵病魔，享年六十二歲。終其一生帶著Defender的硬派精神翻山越嶺，挑戰極限。得知消息後車迷與好友們深感不捨，紛紛在臉書上緬懷這位越野英雄，回憶英姿煥發的片刻，為陳長生致上最深的敬意。
