今年落山風藝術季重頭戲，元旦1月1日重磅推出原創沈浸式舞劇「風潮變」，以沙灘為主舞台，海為背景，邀請前太陽劇團國際表演藝術家張逸軍，聯合華人圈第一火舞團「Coming soon 即將成真火舞團」、知名歌手戴曉君、泰武古謠傳唱隊，以沙灘為臺、地景藝術為幕，演出「風潮變」的舞劇，將高空馬戲、火舞結合在地民謠，在落日時刻，為落山風藝術季，打造獨一無二、不可複製的觀戲體驗，僅此一場，絕對不能錯過。
屏東落山風藝術季展期自12/25-3/1，18件大型藝術作品在車城鄉海口港從沙灘延伸至看海美術館，在天、地、海之間對話，還有難得一見的實景沈浸式舞劇，潘縣長表示，落山風是恆春半島特有的天候氣象，但縣府把過去惡劣天象變成藝術元素，獨一無二的地景藝術邀你非看不可！
縣長潘孟安表示，這次特別挑戰夜間開放，落山風藝術季不管日出、日落、漲潮及退潮都有不同的風情及樣貌，更是拍照打卡的好地方，歡迎沒吹過或想挑戰落山風的民眾，來藝術季享受自然動靜之間與落山風合奏出的交響樂團，邀請沒吹過或想挑戰落山風的民眾，一起來來屏東，過暖冬，吹吹落山風！

每年10月至翌年的4月，落山風翻過山脈，抵達恆春半島，季節性的強風，塑造了半島地區獨有的風情。潘縣長指出，以往秋冬是恆春半島的旅遊淡季，就是因為狂如颱風的落山風，但縣府逆向思考，「吹落山風看藝術」，反倒成為恆春半島秋冬旅遊的新體驗。
屏東縣政府自2018年起舉辦落山風藝術季，從2018年的主題「地理風流」到2020年的「逆風而行」，藉由連結地理與人文的爬梳，體現藝術作品的深度，為海口地區文化觀光發展構建基礎形象。
加上縣府近年整建海口港，把原有的候船室變成看海美術館，形成藝術景點，今年7月首次辦理「春江獸月夜-阿咧特展」，400公斤的春江獸現身看海美術館，瞬間爆紅。落日、風、海洋及獨特人文地理使得海口港成為文青遊客最愛的吹風看海秘境。

今年落山風藝術季以「萬種風情」為主軸，18件大型藝術裝置借無形的風傳達有形的創意，將風的情調、情景，揉合成與山海沙地共生的作品，盡情演繹萬種風情與美麗。
其中，邀請到竹工藝設計大師范承宗創作大型作品「風來了」，他曾在2019台灣燈會創作「帆城」，獲得義大利國際設計大獎（A’design award 2019）鐵獎、德國紅點品牌及傳達設計大獎；此次他設計的「風來了」，運用傳統竹鷹架搭建技術在海口築出一座有如羅馬競技場的空間裝置，結構間裝設的圓形金屬葉片會隨風旋轉，帶來如同懷舊童玩的響動，觸動民眾情懷。
還有曾為2019台灣設計展「超級南」設計的藝術家朱志康，特別創作佇立在海邊的教堂，這是後疫情時代來自海上的祝福，經由海風，在這個海邊教堂匯集。此外，如科幻場景的宇宙飛船「風神號」、目前國內最大機器手臂一體成形3D列印作品「珊弧·山瑚」等，也為落山風藝術季帶來前衛浪潮。
縣府表示，為方便參觀民眾了解作品創作概念，每組藝術作品均有語音導覽，只要掃瞄現場QR code即能收聽，也是今年落山風藝術季的貼心服務。
