疫情高峰期就快到 台南市國際龍舟錦標賽又停辦

去年首度因疫情停辦，2022台南市國際龍錦標賽原訂在6/1到6/3重新舉行，但因新冠肺炎本土確診數量不斷攀升，活動時間又落在中央流行疫情指揮中心推估的確診高峰期區段，南市府經過多方考量與評估，今年決定再次停辦。
台南市長黃偉哲指出，CDC推估新冠肺炎確診數高峰期將會落在5/20到6月中旬，龍舟賽的原訂時程正好在這個時間點，且划龍舟是高肺活量運動，參賽選手不是在龍舟就是在帳棚裡休息，恐怕會成為確診者傳播的來源。
黃偉哲說，其實正常的水上活動沒有問題，但龍舟賽屬於運動競技，模式較為特殊，加上疫情狀況其實也會影響選手參賽意願，也增加防疫難度，在考量諸多因素下就決定停辦。

南市府教育局長鄭新輝指出，去年首度停辦龍舟賽，今年復辦後，報名參賽隊伍共有112隊，但相較往年的149支隊伍減少許多，接受報名時均有徵詢各隊意願，多半都對疫情仍有顧慮，雖有參賽者、工作人員打滿3劑疫苗的規範及其他措施，但疫情漸趨高峰，防疫上的確有難度，宣布停辦同時也將盡速把消息通知已報名的隊伍。
