每逢暑假期間，易有改裝、危駕車輛群聚活動，為有效降低事故發生，行政院今年全面推動改善交通安全，規劃執行四季交安專案，繼第一、二季「防制酒駕」和「路口安全」，第三季主題「安全駕駛」接力登場，強調「不超速、不逼車、不無照」，嘉義縣警察局配合最新一季執法工作要求，將以落實速度管理、稽查改裝防制危駕及取締無照(越級)駕駛為首要目標。

嘉義縣警察局指出，十次車禍九次快！交通事故發生大多與車速過快相關，當駕駛人行駛速度越快，遇見交通狀況時的反應時間就越短，也越容易造成事故。為落實速度管理，縣內除原有12處固定式測速桿外，最新建置完成的「台一線中山路/工業一路口多功能科技執法設備」預定自8月1日啟用，進行全天候監測執法，另各分局也將妥適運用移動式雷達測速器、手持式雷射測速儀，擇定轄區易超速肇事路段密集機動佈署，以督促駕駛人養成遵守速限的良好習慣。

第三季適逢暑假期間，易有改裝、危駕車輛群聚活動，影響道路安全及環境安寧，警察局將積極協調監理、環保機關，共同規劃聯外道路「監、警、環」聯合路檢稽查，同時搭配全縣同步機動巡邏攔(盤)查、深夜測速及聲音照相科技執法，以防制噪音擾民或競速、甩尾等實質危駕行為，特別呼籲青少年朋友應從事正當休閒活動，勿深夜遊蕩或參與不當車聚。

暑期亦為台三線重機跑山熱季，嘉縣警方自4月份起即在中埔沄水至大埔路段展開重點執法，截至6月底已強力取缔超速、跨線(逆向)行駛、改裝嗓音車及無照(越級)駕駛等違規達455件，經統計4至6月(第二季)雖仍有發生交通死傷事故15件，但已較1至3月(第一季)減少12件(-43%)，相較去年同期亦減少9件(-36%)，漸具成效。鑑於台三線易肇事違規型態與本季執法標的相吻合，爰將配合專案再提高執法力道，期能進一步降低事故發生率。
