縣長翁章梁表示，新港除了廟前必吃的古早味美食，還有一間屬於大家的「新港客廳」，這裡是位於鐵路公園對面的台糖老宿舍，保留日式建築物的木構、屋瓦和白壁，在庭園內種植花草綠化環境，以「新港人款待人客好所在」為主要精神。
在「新港客廳」品嘗洋蔥燒肉海老、蒜片香煎魚肚等佳餚，讓「越南小羊」覺得就像在家一樣自在，接著更品嚐阿貓伯、阿正伯粉條冰以及大樹下阿欽伯粉圓冰，都讓小羊感受到在地新港風味。

文化觀光局長許有仁表示，「台灣好行-故宮南院線」針對外國遊客，已連續多年邀請中正、南華大學國際生體驗出遊，今年首度邀請來自越南的「我叫小羊」、來自日本的「超級爺爺」、來自英國的「大豐大哥大」、來自香港的「士多貓」以及來自俄羅斯的「33不來遲」等外籍人士實際搭乘體驗，積累國際宣傳能量。

「台灣好行-故宮南院線」串聯新港、民雄兩大商圈，是來嘉義旅遊的觀光首選路線。夏天就是要吃冰，遊客可到「民雄金桔觀光工廠」手作各式DIY金桔產品、吃一球「果然製物所」的義式冰淇淋；還可以到「蒜頭蔗埕文化園區」搭乘最慢的五分車、來一根台糖冰棒，或是騎著腳踏車到六家佃長壽橋下，點一碗50年的黑糖冰；再到「台灣菸酒嘉義觀光酒廠」品味酒香冰品；到旺萊山鳳梨文化園區，品嚐隱身在鳳梨田的阿美鳳梨冰淇淋。
