電動自行車，現已正式更名為「微型電動二輪車」，騎乘微型電動二輪車不須考領駕照，且輕便省力，是愈來愈多民眾選擇的短程交通工具。

在購買前，請了解以下新規定：
一、微型電動二輪車所有人，要自行投保「強制汽車責任保險」，投保後始可申請或換發牌照。
二、審驗合格的微型電動二輪車，要向監理單位登記、領用、懸掛牌照，目前已在使用的車輛，應在2年內儘速申請牌照。
三、未滿14歲者，禁止駕駛微型電動二輪車。
此外，在道路上騎乘微型電動二輪車，請務必遵守以下交通規則：
一、行駛速率不得超過25km/h。
二、禁止載人。
三、務必停讓視障者。
四、禁止毀損、汙損或變造牌照。
五、配戴安全帽。
六、禁止酒駕、毒駕以及拒檢。
七、禁止擅自變更電子控制裝置或原有規格。
