忠義成功路口完成行人專用時相（圖＿台南市交通局提供）。
日前，南市交通局宣布實施「百大路口安全行動方案」，盤點台南市內一百處交通熱絡的路口，針對路口特性進行行人庇護島、行人號誌、行人專用時相以及人行道等改善措施，目標在今年底完成。第一階段鎖定成功路以南、府前路以北、國華街以東、公園路（南門路）以西的範圍，設置行人專用時相優先示範區。5月已於7處路口建置完成行人專用時相，分別是永福路與民權路口、永福路與友愛街口、忠義路與友愛街口、忠義路與民權路口、成功路與赤崁街口、永福路與中正路口以及忠義路與成功路口。
交通局預計6月將於8處路口建置行人專用時相，8月底開學前將再完成車流量大之20處路口。同時，交通局持續盤點其他行政區學校周邊30-40處路口，預計年底前全數設置完工，目標年底前完成100處路口設置行人專用時相或行人綠燈早開措施。

交通局表示，目前設定時間於每日上午05:30到晚上24:00開啟，當小綠人燈號亮起時，各向車流暫停，只有行人可從任何方向穿越路口，維護行人的通行安全。智慧交通中心表示，將持續觀察行人及車流紓解情形，必要時調整號誌秒數設定或檢討行人專用時段，以兼顧行人與行車通行需求。
市民普遍對於行人專用時相反應良好，但也有民眾希望能增加更多設置路口，例如中華北路以北的路口仍未被納入。另有民眾表示，還是有許多駕駛不禮讓行人，或是在路口違停，造成行人危險，希望市府能持續改善交通，守護行人安全。另有機車族反映，雖然是美事一樁，但是機車待轉區會和行人穿越道重疊，不知道該如何待轉。
