昨(23)日，女足世界盃進行F組賽程，世界排名43的牙買加面對世界排名第5的法國隊演出大驚奇，0:0逼和法國，。第34分鐘，法國前鋒迪亞尼(Kadidiatou Diani )獲得禁區射門機會，遭牙買加門將撲出；40分鐘，牙買加獲得40碼自由球機會，由當家前鋒肖(Khadija Shaw )操刀，角度刁鑽瞄準遠柱底角，同樣遭法國門將撲出。
下半場，法國隊持續強攻，第66分鐘，迪亞尼的頭槌準心差了一點，第89分鐘，迪亞尼再度獲得頭槌機會，可惜仍然差了臨門一腳，球擊中門楣彈出。第90分鐘，肖的一記滑鏟遭裁判判罰黃牌，累積兩張黃牌換紅牌出場，下一場將被禁賽。最後六分鐘的傷停補時，法國仍然無法攻破牙買加大門，終場兩隊就以0:0踢和。
牙買加收下隊史世界盃第一分積分，全隊欣喜若狂，上屆世界盃他們首度闖進會內賽，但三場全敗。本次捲土重來，有了好的開始。雷鬼教父Bob Marley的女兒Cedella Marley也在社群媒體上發文恭喜。牙買加女足長期面臨資源不足的問題，Cedella 自2014年就開始幫女足隊籌措資金並用Bob Marley 基金會的名義贊助他們。同時，Cedella也長期投入當地的基層女足發展。
