U12世界盃少棒賽，傳統好戲「台日戰」，中華隊在延長賽靠著王聖穰的再見安打以3:2氣走日本，也拿下開幕戰的勝利，展現中華小將的強心臟。

此役台日雙方皆有攻勢，2局上日本隊上和健吾敲出二壘安打，並靠著中華隊失誤先馳得點，下半局中華隊馬上用連續按安打，另外日本隊先發水野蒼介，5局投完共被打4安打，1失分，也讓中華隊在進攻端受阻，難以突破，雙方以1:1進入延長賽。

中華隊先發邱亞恩主投3局，失一分並送出5次三振，接替的投手葉壘也順利封鎖日本，6局打完還是1:1的局面。

進入七局上，日本隊先靠著藪内雅也的內野滾地球超前比數，7局下中華隊靠著日本的失誤追平比數成2:2，緊接著王聖穰打出再見安打，超前比數成3:2獲勝。
昨日因為受到颱風杜蘇芮影響，首日比賽全部順延，中華隊原本要出戰澳洲因此延後，台日戰成為本屆賽會中華隊的開幕戰。

此外今日賽事中美國與紐西蘭以43:1的超大比分，戰勝紐西蘭，得分和勝分差都創下賽會紀錄。
