屏東市一名退休婦人講電話時神色慌張，且看到警察後反而更加躲避，屏東警察分局民和派出所員警發覺有異而上前關心。
警員呂昶頷及林宏威日前巡邏時，看見丁姓婦人(年約70歲)表情凝重地講電話，眼神瞄到警察後卻一直往屋子裡走去並將家中大門關上，呂員見其行為異常，不斷呼喚婦人出面告知情況。在員警不斷請求下，婦人終於將大門打開，而呂員也不斷詢問婦人是否有難處，起初丁婦矢口否認有異狀，於是呂員趕緊請婦人家屬返家協助了解情形。然而當呂員發現丁婦與自稱地檢署主任檢察官通電話時，堅定地告訴婦人此為常見詐騙手法，才突破丁婦心防，婦人終於相信與他通電話之人確實為詐騙集團，所幸丁婦尚未匯款至詐騙集團指定帳戶，未造成財產損失，丁婦及其家人十分感謝員警能機警發現，並耐心協助了解情形，才能避免造成損失。

詐騙集團於電話中先是假冒戶政事務所稱民眾身分遭人盜用，並將電話轉接給自稱是屏東分局警官之人，並對民眾表示帳戶涉嫌詐欺案，而後又轉接給假地檢署主任檢察官，並告知若欲確認是否涉案，須先匯款，造成民眾恐慌而前往匯款。屏東分局呼籲，假扮檢警為常見詐騙手法，民眾若接獲自稱為政府機關之公務人員要民眾匯款時，請務必先掛斷電話，並撥打165反詐騙專線或110電話報案，確認是否遭詐。
