嘉義市中興路近高鐵大道路口今（5）日上午發生嚴重車禍，ㄧ台黑色賓士先自撞分隔島，再撞上路燈及一旁貨車，車頭嚴重損毀，車上共4名乘客，警消到場救援時，駕駛及副駕駛意識不清，後座2人意識清楚，分別送醫救治，肇事原因正由警方調查中。

事發後，嘉義市政府消防局於本日08時12分接獲報案，立即派遣第一大隊德安分前往救護，一輛賓士汽車疑似自撞路旁電線桿，導致引擎室近乎全毀，4名傷者受困車內，其中男性駕駛意識不清，另一名男性受困副駕駛座，頭部有約4公分撕裂傷，後座兩名男性乘客意識清楚，有些微擦傷。
救護人員協助患者脫困並給予相關救護處置後，將四名傷者分別送往嘉義基督教醫院、嘉義榮民醫院、部立嘉義醫院續做治療，相關車禍肇事原因由警方調查處理中。
