英國廣播公司（BBC）打假團隊記者薩達瑞薩德（Shayan Sardarizadeh）每天爬梳TikTok網站冒出的戰爭相關影音，其中混雜著造假以及誤導閱聽眾的資訊，讓人認不清事實。
薩達瑞薩德告訴法新社：「TikTok這場仗打得真的不好。我從沒看過其他平台有這麼多虛假內容。」
「我們什麼都看過了：回收再利用過往衝突的影音、用誤導人的方式呈現真實片段、內容明顯是偽造的觀看次數卻達數千萬。」
他表示，最讓人反感的是假直播，也就是用戶假裝親臨烏克蘭現場，實際上用的則是其他衝突的影音，甚至是電玩遊戲，然後再用他們的「報導」跟人要錢贊助。
薩達瑞薩德說：「數以百萬計的人點進去看，他們甚至配上假的槍聲和爆炸聲。」
倡議團體Access Now成員吉爾蒙特（AnastasiyaZhyrmont）認為，沒有料到會發生戰爭，不該是TikTok打假不力的藉口。
她告訴法新社：「這場衝突自2014年起逐漸升級，（相關團體）在入侵發生前很久，就跟TikTok提過克里姆林宮宣傳和不實資訊的問題。」
「他們承諾會加倍努力，並與內容查核者協力，但我不確定他們是否嚴肅看待這項義務。」
吉爾蒙特指出，問題可能出在缺乏烏克蘭語的內容審核人，讓TikTok難以發現虛假資訊。
TikTok則告訴法新社，內部有會說俄語和烏克蘭語的人，但沒說明有多少人。TikTok還稱已增加資源來專門處理這場戰爭，但未提供細節。
