台南市安南區安中路一處民宅，平時出租做為外籍移工宿舍，3日凌晨傳出凶殺案，遭砍的是年約30歲的潘姓越籍男子，他遭2名男子持刀闖入砍殺，傷重不治身亡，行凶的移工逃離現場，轄區警三分局調查後發現疑似是情殺，並鎖定對象，根據監視器影像，在分局後方一處民宅，帶回倪姓、阮姓移工，2人矢口否認涉案，警方依照查扣的衣物跡證等，4日下午訊後依殺人罪嫌將2人移送台南地檢複訊，並追查在逃的團姓移工以釐清案情。

據了解，行凶的越南籍移工並不住在此地，但與潘姓死者為同事，雙方因不明原因結怨，3名越南籍移工凌晨前往潘姓死者住所樓下，2人負責把風，1人衝入持刀砍殺潘男致死，初步判斷起因為仇殺或情殺，警方已調閱相關監視器全力緝凶，目前循線帶回2外籍移工，但２人都否認涉案，也不清楚凶嫌下落；檢警相驗後發現，潘姓死者身上有12處刀傷，其中左胸2刀，還有1刀造成臟器外露，死因仍有待解剖。
警方調查，潘姓死者是失聯移工，他曾因涉及公共危險罪被判刑2月，因未到案遭台中地檢署通緝中，警方聯繫潘男的女友，發現她竟然認識凶嫌，因此朝情殺方向偵辦。

隨著外籍移工人數增加，移工住宿也成為雇主頭痛問題，人力仲介業者指出，移工通常可分為廠內宿舍、廠外宿舍、一般宿舍等住宿方式，前兩者透過專人管理，可掌握外籍移工狀況，生活環境也比較好，而租民宅當宿舍則是相對省成本的做法，相對上安全性就有疑慮，包括屋內隔間及消防是否符合規定，是否會對鄰居(一般民眾)造成困擾，以案發地點為例，2樓半的加蓋透天據說就住了10人，是否都是合法外籍移工也不得而知，除了警方維護治安，政府勞工部門也得負起相關責任。
