潮州分局來義分駐所所長柯奕戎、警員邱曉華，日前擔服巡邏勤務，時發現有一位老翁牽著腳踏車並載著大包回收物，員警眼尖發現異常感覺老翁不是來義鄉本地人，經詢問之下瞭解原來老翁已經迷路找不到路回家，經查陳姓老翁家住崁頂，老翁自己表示，他從早上騎腳踏車出門拾荒後，直到發現要回家時已經認不清回家的路，就牽車一直沿著路走，所幸員警發現將其攔下，不然如果往山裡的方向行走，後果不堪設想，警方考量老翁體力不濟，立即將其帶返分駐所休息。
經來義分駐所員警安撫下，老翁情緒較為緩和，分駐所員警並提供飲料及肉粽給老翁充飢，警方陸續聯絡家屬前來接回老翁，但其兒女皆在外地工作、太太也身體不便前來分駐所，於是員警即協助叫計程車將老翁送回家裡，上車前老翁連忙向警方表示感謝之意。
潮州警察分局長簡彥匡表示，同仁積極且處置妥善，發揮了同理心及為民服務的熱忱，讓迷失的民眾終於找到回家的路，實為同仁表率，殊值嘉勉。
