東港分局崁頂分駐所所長陳伯忠、警員陳俊儒2 員，於3月3日12時40分許接獲民眾報案，稱於轄內崁頂鄉北勢村後廍路段旁公墓有火警，警方獲報立即趕往現場查看。
警方到場後發現公墓雜草起火，並立即通報消防隊到場，警方對於公墓發生火警不敢大意，立即在公墓內擴大搜索，並當場查獲本起縱火嫌疑人蘇姓男子(66年次、居住崁頂鄉越溪村)，員警立即將蘇嫌帶回偵辦，經查蘇男前往清掃祖母墓園，因見太多雜草放火燃燒因而引發大火，現場經消防人員到場後撲滅，所幸未有人員受傷及財物損失，全案經偵詢後依涉嫌公共危險罪將蘇嫌移送屏東地檢署偵辦。
