屏東高樹鄉防汛河堤便道4日發生飆車死亡車禍，競速過程中數輛機車對撞，造成2死3傷慘劇，警方介入調查後發現，當時堤防便道聚集約60多人圍觀車友舉辦的「直線競速」聚會，許多人皆到場騎乘改裝機車在堤防道路上飆車。事後，約談證人、涉嫌人、主辦、協辦人及工作人員等16名相關人等到案說明，陳、黃2人皆承認主辦競速活動，不知會發生這麼嚴重車禍，訊後依公共危險罪嫌移送法辦，經檢方複訊後，諭令陳男5萬元交保、黃男3萬元交保。

有關6月4日防汛道路交通事故案，經里港警分局深入調查釐清，曾有車友在屏東縣高樹鄉廣福大橋堤防車聚，因此釀成事故，里港警分局已擴大調閱附近監視器畫面，並通知在場證人及涉案人到案說明，釐清案情。

案發地為高樹鄉防汛道路，里港警分局去年迄今未曾接獲上址有民眾危險駕車及車輛改裝行駛之報案情事，里港警分局已根據影像，約談證人、涉嫌人、主辦、協辦人及工作人員等16名相關人等到案說明，全案依涉嫌公共危險罪移送屏東地檢署偵辦。另有關民眾反映，有機車改裝車輛行駛部分，里港警分局今年迄今已函報屏東縣環保局及監理站通報噪音改裝車輛達400件，將賡續強力執法，遏止危險駕車情事發生。

里港警分局表示，防汛道路因鮮少有人經過易成為治安死角，警方已在該處設置巡邏箱，加強巡簽及守望，並持續針對各易危險駕車路段，以威力路檢、密集巡邏等方式來增加執法強度，藉以遏阻危險駕車歪風。
