曼城邊後衛Kyle Waker缺席了週二的訓練（圖＿Manchester City）。
曼城將在台灣時間本週(11)日凌晨三點對決國際米蘭，挑戰隊史首座歐冠冠軍。本週二，右後衛Kyle Walker缺席訓練，總教練Pep Guardiola表示：「這只是預防性措施，他的背部有些不適。」
Walker接受Sky Sports訪問時表示：「我很好，只是變老了。過去幾週我的上場時間很多。教練叫我待在家裡，做好準備。我不會因為任何事情而錯過歐冠冠軍賽。」
2021年，曼城在歐冠冠軍戰敗給切爾西。兩個月後，Walker披上英格蘭國家隊戰袍踏進歐錦賽決賽，再度鎩羽而歸，英格蘭在點球大戰上敗給義大利。回憶起那年的經歷，Walker表示：「這是所有偉大球隊必經的過程，你必須經歷失利的過程，然後在挫折中累積對於勝利的渴望。這就是足球，也是職業生涯的一部分，事情不會如此一帆風順。」
對於即降到來的歐冠冠軍賽，Walker說道：「我知道我們是一隻偉大的球隊，但我們還需要一座歐冠冠軍來說服世界上的其他人。我們會修正對陣切爾西時出現的錯誤，把握住這次機會。」
Walker這季的表現也曾面臨考驗，4月初， Guardiola公開表示Walker無法勝任inverted full-back（前插型邊後衛）的角色，這需要邊後衛在進攻時移到中場協助控球。基於戰術需求， Guardiola將Walker移出先發陣容，甚至沒有在歐冠八強賽中被排上先發。得知消息後，Walker說道：「他的意見是對還是錯不是我能決定的，因為他是這支球隊的教練。我所能做的只能好好訓練，維持比賽狀態。當我踏上球場時，我會做出貢獻，讓他在重要比賽中派我上場。」 四月底，Walker與兵工廠的關鍵戰役後重新獲得先發機會，他把握住了。
