臺南市警察局警第三分局在最近一起成功逮捕持槍犯嫌的案件中展現了出色的警務表現。南警第三分局接獲一名熱心民眾的舉報，稱有一男子疑似持槍進入一民宅。接獲舉報後，南市警第三分局迅速通報偵查隊及海南派出所，並迅速派出人員前往現場處理。經到場調閱周邊監視器確認無誤，遂部署進行攻堅，恰與犯嫌同住之邱姓友人步出房門，經其同意讓員警進入搜索，令人驚訝的是，當警方進入民宅時，犯嫌郭姓男子（78年次、臺南市人）正呼呼大睡。在搜索過程中，警方在電視櫃上發現了一個彈夾，其中內有子彈，並在床上的枕頭下查獲了一支非制式手槍等證物。

值得一提的是，在搜索時警方發現犯嫌郭姓男子一直昏睡且久叫不醒。進一步詢問邱姓友人後，得知兩人最近搬到安南區居住，但近期難以入眠，因此郭姓男子有服用安眠藥的習慣。為了確保安全，警方通知了急救中心（119）協助將犯嫌送醫就醫。
該案件在警方的詢問後，移請臺灣臺南地方檢察署進一步調查。警方將繼續追查槍枝的來源，以揭開更大的犯罪網絡。
第三分局分局長劉怡宗對於這起案件的成功逮捕表示讚揚。他強調，這是由於「社區警政再出發」宣導的效果，民眾對於治安問題的關注度大幅提升。這起案件是熱心民眾積極通報、警方全力查緝不法的最佳範例。他同時借此機會呼籲民眾，如遇到不法行為，應立即撥打110報案，警方將立即處置，確保社區的安全與治安。
