嘉義縣太保市南北與東西向高鐵大道交會路口發生連環車禍，今（11）日早上約8時5輛車連環追撞，車輛嚴重變形毁損，5車分散於三個車道，車輛只能改道通行慢車道，所幸只有一名駕駛輕傷，事故原因正由警方調查中。

嘉義縣消防局表示，今早07時59分接獲報案，於台37與台18線發生連環車禍事故，救護車到場後發現現場5輛自小客車追撞，共計載送4女1男共5人前往長庚醫院診治。

據警方初步調查，ㄧ名李姓男子駕車由南往北行經事故路口時，前方有4輛車在停等紅燈，李男疑似精神不濟未注意車前狀況，追撞前方車輛，前車遭撞後往前又撞上二輛車，接著李男又撞上一部計程車後失控衝到分隔島，車頭幾乎全毀，撞到駕駛座安全氣囊爆開，李男幸運的平安無事，其他車則有一名駕駛輕傷送醫，警方目前正在釐清肇事原因和責任歸屬。
