台南市永康區一名2歲男童發高燒，呼吸急促又有抽搐現象，快篩呈現陽性反應，男童父親開車送醫途中向警方求助，永康分局大灣派出所員警見情況危機，駕駛警車協助開道，10分鐘內送抵永康奇美醫院，男童治療後病情穩定已經出院，該名家長也在臉書社群貼文感謝警方幫忙。

永康警分局指出，12日晚間21時，黃姓男子駕駛轎車停在大灣派出所前，他神色慌張，向員警表示自家孩子快篩陽性，發燒到39度以上，有呼吸急促並不是抽搐，又怕開車前往就醫途中因交通狀況延誤，遂向警方求援。
派出所立刻通報分局勤務指揮中心，將協助民眾急診就醫，由員警蔡長州、蘇御剴駕警車沿路開警示燈、鳴警報器開道，避開路口號誌，7公里路程僅花10分鐘左右就抵達，男童經過治療後恢復穩定已出院。
永康分局長甘炎民表示，行政院長指示疫情期間各警察機關遇有民眾急病需到院就醫而請求開道護送時，應本於急難救助精神，全力協助安全護送及縮短送醫時間。為民服務是警察職責，員警只是將心比心為需要協助民眾盡點棉薄，看到小孩平安健康，跟家屬一樣充滿喜悅。
