228中樞紀念儀式在臺南舉行，蔡英文致詞表示未來更加尊嚴的追求自由與繁榮。
今年228事件76周年中樞紀念儀式，今（28）日在臺南市安平區二二八紀念公園舉行，總統蔡英文也在致詞時表示，要讓臺灣人未來要更加尊嚴的追求自由與繁榮、尊嚴的和世界交往、尊嚴的做自己，不只為這一代，更為世世代代的臺灣人。
今年中樞紀念儀式主題為「正義匯聚 勇氣延續」，由蔡總統代表向228英靈獻花致敬揭開序幕，隨後由主辦單位財團法人二二八事件紀念基金會董事長薛化元致詞並向各界報告二二八基金會工作進展。

市長黃偉哲致詞表示，落實轉型正義的相關工作，市府一直在持續努力，例如2012年市府率先全臺，宣布訂定每年4月7日為「言論自由日」，以紀念民主前輩為爭取自由及傳達言論自由的價值，2022年將臺南具有象徵意義的「臺灣文學館」原址訂為「湯德章大道1號」、將歷史建築中西區圖書館擴充為228紀念館，近期也推動社區及學校內有威權象徵的中正堂銘牌卸除，換回原本的地名。另外自2020年起市府陸續與專業團隊合作，考據調查出版《臺南人權歷史場址手冊》、《等待天光：臺南人權歷史場址Ⅱ》、《漫漶時光：臺南人權歷史場址Ⅲ》等3本專書，藉此讓民眾了解這些臺南民主人權的重要場址，希望傳承給下一代人追求公理正義及爭取民主人權的精神。隨後市長親自將上開三本專書致贈給總統，也感謝總統的蒞臨，帶領大家共同緬懷追思民主前輩。
黃偉哲致詞表示，市府一直在持續努力落實轉型正義的相關工作。
總統致詞表示，自2016年以來，政府系統性的推動轉型正義，逐步推動立法工作，持續累積轉型正義的成果，共計撤銷5983件不法判決；清查威權時期政治檔案7572件，審定42處不義遺址，積極規劃活化，使其成為轉型正義的教育基地。蔡總統也引用電影《悲情城市》的一幕，指出讓臺灣人尊嚴的生活是紀念228最好的方式，期望臺灣人未來要更加尊嚴的追求自由與繁榮、尊嚴的和世界交往、尊嚴的做自己，不只為這一代，更為世世代代的臺灣人。總統在致詞後並頒發回復名譽證書予二二八事件受難者蘇水木先生，由其子蘇清雲先生代表受頒領取。
